Chrome Blue

Acrylic on hardboard, mounted in maple float frame, 6” x 6” x 1.5”

Another 6 x 6 that was done at the same time as a larger piece. It was nice to do a 20 x 20 and a 6 x 6 at the same time, same colors, same technique and see the difference in scale and composition that each type of substrate dictates when you work with it. I am a fan of the color blue and hardly do anything without blue in it. My favorite color is a dark blue like Indigo. There is something about that color that deepness that creates a pull that pulls you into the painting to examine it. This piece has just a hint of that color in it, but the color that really shines in this piece is the more medium Blue color.
