Lavender

“Lavendar” was created in Santa Barbara, CA in 2018 when my husband and I lived there for 10 months for a work assignment. I was taking Art classes and going to Gallery walks every month and enjoying the CA lifestsyle. This piece started as my pre-intuitive work always did from a photo I took of some shapes that interested me. As usual the photo and the painting never look anything alike, the photo of shapes and texture, maybe color give me a jumping off point and then as I am into the groove of creating the painting takes on a life of its own. So maybe I was doing some intuitive work at this point but not nearly as developed as what I am doing currently. However, “Lavendar” is still one of my favorite pieces. It speaks to me and to my development as an Artist.
