This is one of my first pieces when I started getting serious about Abstract painting about 5 years ago. I had this piece at an art show and a Realtor said, “if that piece was larger it would be great in a home I am staging”! Well that made me feel good. At the time I was not painting larger than 12 x 16 but realized at some point I would have to get over the intimidation of a larger canvas and go for it. I am currently working on a 3ft by 4ft piece. This piece was created from a small section of an image that caught my eye. Sometimes when I see an ad or a picture there is a tiny section I am drawn to and I will fold the piece up to just display that portion and I can see a full concept along with the shapes I want, the relationship, the line, and the color. I was never drawn to orange but in this piece it plays nicely with the green and blue. I dont know what people will “see” when they look at it for me its unusual but there is something about the wide open “peachy” space and the linear green area that is very appealing.
