Spirit within

Spirit Within was created in Santa Barbara, CA while I lived there for 10 months in 2018. It started with wanting to create a piece using the “cruciform” shape that is very popular in Abstract Art pieces. You may not have heard of it but if you look at alot of Art you have seen it. It generally is a cruciform “t” ish shape that extends from top to bottom and side to side of a piece. At first the side to side section of this piece extended to the edges of the painting but it did not seem right to me so I shortened that section. During this time I was taking yoga classes everyday from the most amazing intuitive yoga teacher and was feeling especially grounded and spiritual. This piece morphed in such a way as to take on a personna of this spiritual being for me. What started out as an intent to create a time honored and attractive “form” in Art became this incredible peaceful and beautiful piece that just glows with the Orange against the Blue …two contrasting and exciting colors.
